Our Books

The contents of this book were first published in a little weekly study sheet entitled “Scripture Notes and News.” It was well received and I have had much encouragement to put it into book form. There has never been a time when we needed, more than now, good sound reading on the basic teachings of the Bible. I feel that the contents of this book are simple, readable and sound in the faith of our fathers. Without intending to sound boastful, but in order to satisfy the reader that I am not a novice, I have been pastoring churches with some success for 65 years in Arkansas, California, Idaho, Missouri, Tennessee and Georgia. I believe I know what the people known as Primitive Baptist believe. More importantly, however, I believe I show in the book that the Bible teaches the things we believe as a people. The book contains more than what I have written, so if any credit is coming to me it will be that I was a good selector rather than a good writer. The first article was copied out of a book entitled Doctrine and Practice of Primitive Baptists by C.W. Radcliff and printed in 1928 by William Mitchell Printing Company of Greenfield, Indiana.
